APM's History
Atlantic Public Media was incorporated as a non-profit organization
in 1993 (originally named Cape and Islands Community Public
Radio) to create a new public radio service for Cape Cod,
Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. For seven years, founder
Jay Allison and a band of zealots pushed this along at the
local and federal level.In 2000, with WGBH-Boston
supporting and adopting our effort, WCAI
and WNAN finally went on the air. Amen.
APM has now evolved into a production and training organization,
focusing on public media, particularly public radio, with
projects like Transom.org
and many others. |
