Vernon Laux
"Bird News : Vagrants and Visitors on a Peculiar Island"

by E. Vernon Laux

ListenListen to this program in Real Audio G2

A look back to the skies with an appreciation for life ongoing.

Since he was a child, E. Vernon Laux has been infatuated by birds. Well respected in the field of ornithology, he has led birding tours everywhere from Israel to the Arctic and lectures throughout the United States. A resident of Martha's Vineyard, Laux also writes columns for the Martha's Vineyard Gazette where his regular sign-off is: "Any bird news is good news. Keep your eyes to the sky."

In his 1999 book, "Bird News: Vagrants and Visitors on a Peculiar Island," Laux documents a year in the life of the Martha's Vineyard bird population and provides a bird's-eye view of the seasons on New England's most celebrated island.

Join Jay Allison as he welcomes the "birdman of Martha's Vineyard," E. Vernon Laux.
